As an Engineer you will work with all engineering sub teams to gain valuable experience and knowledge in various parts of the car. You will have the opportunity to work with the following engineering teams: chassis, brakes & tyres, suspension & steering, powertrain, electrical systems, aerodynamics, and manufacturing. Once you have worked with every sub team and have built up a foundation of knowledge you will have the ability to join a sub team of your liking permanently.

No previous engineering or motorsport knowledge is required, you will be working closely with the leaders of each sub teams. They will give you tasks and teach you how to use various software and the mechanics of a race car.

As the Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for wiring up the entire electrical system of the car and managing it. This includes the engine management circuit, safety circuit and data logging circuit. You will be introduced to the current electrical team and taught the current electrical system on the car. You will also work on the telemetry system, which operates on a Raspberry Pi and reads CAN BUS data from the ECU. The data has to be processed and displayed on the dashboard for the driver.

As a Business & Marketing Team Member you will be working alongside the Head of Business & Marketing. You will be reaching out to potential new sponsors and staying in contact with current sponsors. You will also ensure that the team is running like a real business, tracking expenses, income, sponsorships and deals and finally working on the required business presentation for the competition. The marketing team will also be in charge of SBR's social media accounts, ensuring regular posts are being uploaded and the community is up to date with progress of the car and notified about upcoming events and uploads of SBR's ducumseries Pushed To The Limit.

The media team is responsible for capturing and creating content and graphics for our social media and our YouTube Docuseries Pushed To The Limit. You will be working closely with the whole team, taking regular pictures and videos of the process of designing and building the race car. 

As part of the Videography team, you will be responsible for filming content for our docuseries, which is posted on the SBR YouTube channel, and is an important part of our racing team. 

This role will be vital during the competition, ensuring that many photos and videos are taken for sharing and exposing our success.

As a member of the Management & Logistics team, you will have a crucial role to keep the team running efficiently. You will work closely with the Team Principal and manage the admin side of the team and ensure sub teams work to satisfactory standards at all times. You will be responsible for managing orders, organising team events like the car launch and social events, and planning for the annual Formula Student competition at Silverstone.
